Parents of East Elementary, North Elementary, South Elementary, and New Hope Academy students: The East Elementary, North Elementary, South Elementary, and New Hope Academy campuses no longer qualify for campus-wide free school meals under the Community Eligibility Provision program. Therefore, starting in the 2026-27 school year, school meals will no longer be automatically free for every student on these campuses.
Moving forward, students on these campuses will either need to pay for school breakfast and lunch meals or qualify individually for free or reduced-price school meals.
Families can complete the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) application to determine if their household qualifies for free or reduced-price meals as part of the district’s Annual Student Registration process.
If you believe your household may qualify, please consider completing the NSLP application (instructions available at https://www.lcisd.net/o/lcisd/page/free-and-reduced-meals). As a reminder, a student’s NSLP status is completely confidential, and qualifying families may receive additional benefits beyond free or reduced-price school meals. There is no penalty for applying, even if your household does not qualify.
