⚽ 📚 ⚽ 📚 Calling all adventure seekers, soccer enthusiasts, and fans of superhero tales - we've got just the book for you! Former East Elementary student and current LCMS student João Sganzerla has written "Unstoppable United: The Start," the story of a soccer team made up of players with superpowers, and the unusual challenges they encounter (including robot spies and zombie battles). Not only did João write and publish the book, he also designed the awesome graphics, and hosted two book signings in Brazil over the summer! We're so proud of his hard work, and we can't wait for many more must-reads in his future!

East Elementary's Mrs. Rolan has turned a classroom corner into the "Author Spotlight" area! This summer, she's reached out to more than 30 children's authors of books in her classroom library to learn more about their lives and careers, and has even added character stuffed animals to correspond with the books. She is working on developing lifelong readers by making creative connections for her students!

Mrs. Goodwin and Mrs. Nesmith are using their #Lead4ward strategies to begin STAAR review with fifth graders. Students started by sorting out a mystery bag, then participated in cafe conversations with their peers to brainstorm all the awesome activities and experiences that have happened throughout the year. They wrapped up the class period with a tour of knowledge for students to reflect on and celebrate their own thinking and learning!
